M:TA - Today

This past June, (2009), I celebrated 5 years cancer free - a bigmilestone in the cancer world. Since my cancer, I have gotten marriedand had two beautiful children (Jordan 2 ½ and Drew 11 months). I feelvery fortunate to be living my life and focusing on a healthy future.

Interms of my reconstruction, I have to be honest and say that I miss thebody I use to have and I think I am still grieving that a little bitfrom time to time. I am however still pleased with my reconstructionresults and feel thankful that I look close to normal. For those of youthat have been down this road you know that the scars never really goaway. They fade, but there is still that reminder when you look closelyat yourself that cancer was once there. Reconstruction was the rightchoice for me- it is not what everyone chooses and I can completelyunderstand why that is, but for me there are no regrets.

The Myself: Together AgainProject (M:TA) continues to serve as a valuable resource for womendiagnosed with breast cancer and considering treatment options. We gete mails from women all over the world thanking us for creating thewebsite and the booklets and every time I read those e mails I feel asense of peace that this project has been able to show women the realside of breast reconstruction. I feel very proud of the work that hasgone into this project and I can assure you that although it is me inthose pictures, I have not done this work alone over the past severalyears - not by a long shot. There really is an M:TA Team and thatincludes the wonderful people who donate money and time to this projectyear after year.

Thank you for visiting our website and we hope that it has offered support and good information to help in your journey.
